Atlantic records was formed in 1944 by two Turkish brothers, Nesuhi and Amhet Ertegun. The two brothers had a passion for Jazz music and R&B. Thus leading them to the decision to start their own record label in the United States. Even though the Record Label was created in 1944, the Record Label wasn’t incorporated until 1947. Today Atlantic is owned by the parent company, Warner Bros and currently has over 80 artists.
